Security Federal Bank

A lifestyle of improving financial literacy and reinvesting in community members.

About Security Federal Bank

Security Federal Bank’s primary mission is to promote community development and economic growth in the areas it serves. SFB is committed to serving those without adequate access to capital or financing, including local small businesses and local distressed communities.

Security Federal Bank was founded in 1922 in Aiken, South Carolina and has thirteen branches located throughout South Carolina as well as a branch in Georgia. Many of the branches are located in CDFI markets, evidence of the Bank’s commitment to underserved communities.

SFB’s business strategy and organizational goals are to provide financial products and services that meet the needs of its target market. SFB strives to keep its deposit product line simple, streamlined, and understandable. Many banks, especially the larger banks, offer a myriad of checking account products whereas SFB offers a smaller number of deposit products, but enough to fulfill the needs of a range of businesses and consumers.

SFB reinvests in the citizens of its communities by providing free financial counseling. A team of financial counselors is devoted to assisting customers with overcoming credit obstacles, establishing good savings habits and improving their credit rating. Improving financial literacy and reaching the underserved has become a lifestyle at the Bank.
