Key findings from NCIF’s analysis of mission-oriented banks are presented in this aggregate report, incorporating publicly available as well as privately reported data on financial and social performance for 24 high-impact reporting banks. This year's report also includes new datapoints like Mission Intensity, capturing lending to underserved people, environmental efforts, and other mission segments.
Reporting banks had substantial impacts in their communities in 2012, including:
- 57% of all lending by reporting banks went to low- and moderate-income communities
- 88% of clients were minority or previously excluded
- 10,921 jobs were created through loans to businesses
- 100% reporting banks offer innovative products tailored to underserved communities
