Maria Contreras-Sweet of ProAmerica nominated to head SBA

Our congratulations to Maria Contreras-Sweet, nominated by President Obama to be head of the US Small Business Administration. As executive chairwoman and founder of ProAmerica Bank, Ms. Contreras-Sweet has been a partner of NCIF and a champion of the small business community. NCIF thanks her for her guidance as a member of our New Markets Tax Credit Advisory Board.

ProAmerica Bank is a CDFI Bank and Minority Bank, formed to serve the Los Angeles business community and ultimately to become the leading financial services provider of Latino entrepreneurs. ProAmerica provides bicultural service, not just bilingual service, financial education and empowerment for both clients and future clients, as well as a conservative, yet flexible credit culture.
