Telling the Story: The Impact of the Reporting Banks and Community Development Banking Institutions

This aggregate report presents key findings from NCIF’s annual bank Dashboards, incorporating financial and social performance, quantitative and qualitative information, and public as well as privately-reported data on 24 high-impact reporting banks. “Telling the Story” introduces NCIF's Social Performance Metrics, including new datapoints and the new Mission Intensity metric, a measure of banks' mission-oriented lending. The aggregate analysis of reporting banks shows how these institutions, a subset of the larger mission-oriented banking sector, have served communities and includes information regarding lending portfolios, customer profiles, job creation, and innovative financial products. This publication uses public and self-reported data covering activity during 2012, which is released during the second half of 2013. Self-reported data is collected at the loan level and through an in-depth institution level survey.
